FREE CROCHET PATTERN: Meet the Lil Frog AKA Soggy Froggy

Once upon a time, there was a soggy froggy... well, he wasn’t always soggy!

I made a bunch of Lil Frogs for my market stall, and they were a huge hit! I had no idea how quickly they’d fly off the shelves until one ended up in the hands of my toddler.

Unfortunately, one adventurous frog took an unexpected trip… to the bathroom 🚽. (I’ll let you fill in the details there!)

Despite his mishap, the Lil Frog Crochet Pattern has been a ribbiting success. It’s sold out at every market I’ve brought them to, and I’m confident it’ll do the same for you! This pattern is super quick to whip up, and it’s perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to your market table or gifting to a frog-loving friend.

Pattern Details

Materials

Super Bulky Yarn (#6) I used a Sweet Snuggles Lite

• light green

• pink

5 mm crochet hook

Embroidery Needle

Safety Eyes - 12 mm OR Small bit of black yarn

Scissors

Abbreviations

mr - magic ring

sc - single crochet

inc - increase

dec -  decrease

BLO - back loop only

3bbl - bobble stitch with 3 dc instead of 5

cc - change colour

Starting in light green yarn.

1. 8 sc in mr [8]

2. 2 inc, (3bbl and sc in same stitch), inc, (sc and 3bbl in same stitch), 3 inc [14 sc, 2 3bbl]

3. sc around [16]

Add 12 mm safety eyes using the image as a guide.

4. sc around [16]

5. sc around [16]

6. In BLO: 8 dec [8]

Stuff your lil frog and fasten off.

Embroider a mouth between row 2/3 over one or two stitches.

Embroider blush between row 3/4.
